The almost-great escape

The cheeky cub was caught on camera making a bold break for freedom from her nursery pen – only to be collared by her quick-thinking and amused handler. The failed attempt did not appear to deter Wen Li, however. She was later spotted in what seems to be her favourite position once more – dangling from the edge of her playpen again. These images of Wen Li – and her apparently quieter and better-behaved twin sister Ya Li – were taken at the Chengdu Giant Panda Research Institute.
